He is an expert on various conditions affecting the skin, hair, and nail, such as eczema, psoriasis, acne, rosacea, melasma, hair loss, and skin cancer. Dr. Shih stands on the forefront of dermatologic advances and offers the most up-to-date treatments to patients of all ages. He also excels in combination treatments to improve acne scars, hyperpigmentation, and other cosmetic concerns in patients of all skin types. Utilizing a variety of tools and techniques in his toolbox, including neuromodulator (wrinkle relaxers), dermal filler, chemical peel, subcision, and various lasers and energy based devices, he strives to deliver natural results tailored to each patient's unique needs. Dr. Shih received his bachelor's degree from University of California, Berkeley, in Molecular and Cell Biology. He received his medical degree at University of Central Florida, College of Medicine, followed by an internship at his home program in Orlando, Florida. He completed the prestigious dermatology residency program at Boston University, where he trained with world renowned experts in skin cancer, hair loss, and skin of color. Dr. Shih was the recipient of the prestigious Skin of Color Society Research Award. He has authored numerous book chapters and publications in top peer-reviewed dermatology journals, such as Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery. Dr. Shih is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and American Society for Dermatologic Surgery. He is also a volunteer instructor at the department of dermatology at Mount Sinai Hospital, committed to teaching the next generation of dermatologists.
